The Lake Artists Society was founded in 1904 by artist W.G.Collingwood who was also secretary to the well known John Ruskin, of Coniston.
The present elected membership is limited to 45 artists residing in Cumbria, including the English Lake District, the Northern Pennines, and the Cumbrian Dales.
The Summer Exhibition, held in Grasmere Hall, was open for 6 weeks from the 27th July to 4th September 2019 and attracted thousands of visitors.
Non-members are encouraged to submit paintings for consideration for exhibition alongside the member's work. Awards are given by local business sponsors and
presented to artists of merit.
Being selected to exhibit alongside members of this esteemed Society was both a privilege and an honour for me.
